Recording sweep picking has another element which should be addressed, which is better? Analogue or digital?

Although I have only listed the two main reasons, there are many others, for instance Tape Saturation, also known as tape compression where analogue mixes were applied hot on to tape resulting in a natural roll off oh higher frequencies, bringing up the bass. This kind of distortion is pleasing to many peoples ears and you would be surprised how many modern recording studios actually bounce there digital mixes through to reel to reel machines to get that sound.

It seems there are simply too many reasons why analogue is better quality.

So next time you listen to some good old fashioned analogue tapes or LP’s going through an analogue audio system and you wonder why it seems to sound so much better, then maybe you to will join the debate?
